What is said in the room stays with you

People share their hardest things in counseling. We built Baruch Scribe so that trust is never in question.

Your notes live where you choose

On your device, or in your own Google Drive or OneDrive account. We don't keep a copy on our servers.

No ads. No analytics.

No tracking, no advertising, and no selling of data. This website doesn't track you either.

Nothing sent on its own

The app never sends, shares, or reports anything without you. Even safety flags are private notes for your eyes only.

You stay in control

Transcription can run on the device. If you choose a cloud transcription service, you add your own key and can switch back anytime. Notes are drafts until you review them.

Ask first

We encourage you to get the counselee's consent before recording any session.

Privacy policy

Effective October 31, 2026. This policy covers the Baruch Scribe app for Android and this website.

No account, no server of ours

Baruch Scribe has no sign-up and no user accounts. We do not run a server that receives your sessions, notes, or recordings, and we do not collect any personal data from the app.

Microphone

The app uses the microphone only while you are running a live session that you started, after you confirm consent. Audio is used to make a transcript. Audio is never sent anywhere except to a transcription service you chose yourself (see below).

Notes and transcripts

Case notes, transcripts, intake details, and homework are stored on your device. If you connect Google Drive or OneDrive, the app saves files to your own account when you ask it to. We never see those files.

Optional services you choose

By default, transcription runs on the device (the speech model is downloaded once). If you enter your own AssemblyAI key, session audio is sent from your phone directly to AssemblyAI for transcription. If you enter your own OpenAI key, short session text is sent directly to OpenAI to draft suggestions and notes. These requests go from your phone to that provider under your own account and its privacy terms. Keys are stored in the device's secure storage and are never sent to us. You can remove a key at any time and the app goes back to on-device mode.

No ads, no analytics

Ask Baruch, the optional question screen, sends a question only when you tap Send. On the free service, it goes through our small relay to Google's Gemini AI, and the AI provider may use questions to improve its products. Please leave out names and other personal details. The relay keeps only a daily count per device (as a scrambled id), never the questions. If you enter your own OpenAI key, questions go to OpenAI under your account instead.

The app contains no advertising, no analytics, and no tracking libraries. It does not sell or share data. It never sends anything on its own.

Deleting your data

Because there is no account, there is nothing for us to delete on our side. To delete your data: clear the app's storage (Android Settings, Apps, Baruch Scribe, Storage, Clear storage); or uninstall the app, which removes everything stored on the device. Files you saved to Google Drive or OneDrive stay in your account until you delete them there. Data sent to AssemblyAI or OpenAI with your own key is handled under your account with that provider, where you can request deletion.

Children

The app is a tool for adult counselors and is not directed at children.
